What Are the Issues

Our Focus

The SEA findings suggest that it is a mistake to concentrate only on Climate Change and Biodiversity - critical though these issues are.

This world is divided between haves, and have-nots. A greener future depends upon achieving greater equality, radical reform of all world decision-making processes and changes

to create a sustainable global economy

Human Welfare

The prospects for securing world peace will only be realised when society becomes more equal.  In the last decade the gulf between those who have everything and those who have next to nothing has grown ever-wider.

Environment

The rate of destruction of natural habitats and endangered species is expanding every year, destroying environment and the natural capital on which life itself depends.

Economy

It is not only environmentalists who say our global approach to economics has to change- so too does the UN, the World Bank, OECD, and many banking institutions

Institutions

Most of the World's decision-making bodies were established 75 years ago and are no longer fit for purpose because they have failed to keep up with the accelerated pace of technological development.  They need urgent reformation - guided by citizens assemblies.
